A group of Melbourne jazz piano lovers have revived the concept of the famous Jazz Piano Lunches which were such an important part of the Melbourne live jazz scene for about thirty years until they ceased two years ago .
The first of the new Lunches was held on the 25th of January 2018 in the Function Room at the East Malvern RSL and was an overwhelming success with many of the audience chatting and lingering over drinks an hour after the music finished.
The next Piano Lunch will be held between midday and about 3.00 pm on Thursday the 22nd of March. East Malvern RSL is set in parklands at 1 Stanley Grose Drive , East Malvern and is about 400 meters walk from the Darling Railway Station on the Glen Waverley line.
Each pianist will play a twenty minute solo bracket. Among those performing on the 22nd will be Cathy Connor, Keith Stevens , Jo Abbott, Ade Ishs, Ron Anderson, Ken Cowan and Kim Harris and we are sure others will be added to the list.
Entry is free and bookings are not required. Lunch can be ordered in the bistro and can be served in the Function Room while you enjoy the music.
The plan is for the piano lunches to be held every eight weeks and the next one is scheduled for the 24th of May.
